Browser and AOL Issues

In order to provide privacy of your account, you will be accessing St. Joseph’s over a secure connection. Any browser using 128–bit encryption should be used to establish this secured connection.

If you do not have Internet Explorer or Netscape, or you have an older version of these programs, it may be a good idea to download the most recent browser from Netscape or Microsoft.


Recommended Browser Versions (all free to download):

• Netscape 7.0 and above
• Internet Explorer 6 w/ Service Pack 1 and above

NOTE: Windows 98, 2000, ME, or XP users can update their IE browser by using WINDOWS UPDATE — please use your computer’s HELP feature for more information.


AOL USERS
Due to past technical problems with AOL, we are recommending that people who use AOL software and the AOL browser switch to one of the other Internet Browsers, such as Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer. Most computers have Internet Explorer installed on their machines already (and may receive an update of the browser when installing new versions of AOL).

Follow these Steps to use another browser with AOL:

1) Sign on to AOL

2) Minimize the AOL window (click in the upper–right hand corner of the screen)

3) Open either the Netscape browser or Internet Explorer browser and use it to access the St. Joseph’s College website.

AOL has a policy of keeping a cache (local copy) of our website independent of our servers. If there is a registration issue or problem, you may not be seeing the most current information.
