Our mission is to provide all students and alumni with assistance in making life decisions and exploring employment and educational opportunities. Our services include:

Counseling
The primary purpose of the Office is to assist students in learning about themselves, to clarify personal and career goals, interests, strengths and weaknesses, and to discover the unique qualities they can bring to the workplace. Students may meet individually with a counselor; sessions should be scheduled in advance.

Recruitment Program
Representatives from local and metropolitan area companies recruit on campus during the year. The Office sponsors a Career Fair and two teacher job fairs each spring. Click on Events and Workshops for current information.

Student and alumni may log on to MONSTERTRAK.com, a national online job listing service for college students and alumni. To use this service, enter www.monstertrak.com on any computer with Internet access. Register your user name and private password, as directed. To locate jobs, click on Find a Job, highlight St. Joseph’s College-New York, and enter the college password: SJCEAGLES. Follow the prompts to view current job listings. MONSTERTRAK has additional useful, free features.

In addition, you may access our own listing service, by clicking on EAGLES JOBLINE. Postings are updated weekly.

Workshops
The Office schedules workshops every semester on topics such as Life after SJC – Job Search and Survival, Print Resume and Cover Letter Writing, Electronic Resumes, Interviewing Skills, Introduction to Graduate School and the GRE, and Dress for Success. Dates are posted at Career Workshops & Events.

Graduate School Information
The Office maintains directories and catalogs for graduate schools, and supplies admissions testing bulletins for the GRE, GMAT, and LSAT. Law school advisement is available, as well as assistantship and scholarship information. The GRADUATE SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE is held every fall.

Services for Students with Disabilities
It is the policy of St. Joseph’s college not to discriminate on the basis of disability in its educational programs, admissions policies, employment policies, financial aid, or other school administered programs. Students needing academic assistance in the classroom because of a disability should contact this Office. Upon presentation of appropriate documentation of the disability, the director will assist with arrangements such as additional testing time and/or alternate testing locations, notetakers, readers, extended time for courses, and/or use of voice recorders in the classroom.
