Skyline Honors Three, Luzim Repeats as Pitcher of the Week Softball Takes Two Awards, Luzim Continues Hot Streak Patchogue, NY – For two consecutive weeks Mike Luzim has been the hottest pitcher in the Skyline Conference and now he has his second straight Pitcher of the Week award to show for it. Luzim, the senior ace of the St. Joseph's pitching staff has not allowed an earned run in Skyline play this season. In a two-hit 4-0 victory over Farmingdale last weekend, Mike struck out 10 batters and walked none. St. Joseph's also won Game 2 that day after Rob Motroni threw his own shutout, 1-0, later that afternoon. In 18 scoreless inning of Skyline action, Luzim has struck out 20 batters. He owns a 3-2 record, has posted a 1.84 ERA, struck out 30 and has allowed only nine walks in 29.1 innings this season. The SJC Softball team also laid claim to two Skyline Weekly awards this week. Eileen Bracciodieta was named Player of the Week after a terrific performance in a doubleheader sweep of St. Elizabeth last Monday. She was 4-for-6 on the day with 4 runs scored, 4 RBI, and three doubles. On the year, Bracciodieta is hitting .459 with 17 runs, four doubles, 12 RBI and owns a .545 on-base percentage. Also winning for the Golden Eagles was Caitlin Clock - the Skyline Softball Pitcher of the Week. Clock threw a one-hitter against St. Elizabeth, allowing no earned runs and striking out 13 in the win. In 2004, Clock is 3-4 with a 4.34 ERA and 34 K's. The St. Joseph's Baseball team is currently 9-11 and 4-1 in the Skyline.
