Four Named To NY Region All-Star Baseball Team
Kevin Ginter Earns Regional All-Tournament Honors

Patchogue, NYFive St. Joseph's Golden Eagle Baseball players were honored this week following a terrific season on the field, which ended with the team's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament.

St. Joseph's is pleased to announce that a program-record four players were named to the New York Region ABCA/Rawlings All-Star Team as voted by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Pitcher Tony Gallia, was named to the First Team and will be eligible for All-America honors. Gallia, a junior out of East Moriches, went 9-1 this season and posted a 2.31 ERA. Previously, Gallia was named to Skyline All-Conference First Team.

Joining Gallia on the New York Region Team is fellow pitcher Mike Luzim. The senior from Kings Park was voted to the Second Team after posting a 5-5 record and an SJC-best 1.64 ERA and 58 K's. Luzim was named Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-Conference earlier this month.

Accompanying the Golden Eagle pitchers are Rob Maccone and Jason Rudilosso - both named to the New York Region Third Team. Maccone, a senior catcher, hit .323 this season and was an outstanding defensive force. The Holtsville native threw out over 50% of base runners (13 of 24) that tried to steal while he was behind the plate.

Jason Rudilosso led the Golden Eagles in batting average (.336), HR (4), slugging percentage (.526) and total bases (61). The junior from Centereach made the All-Region team as a first baseman.

Kevin Ginter, a junior third baseman from North Bellmore, was named to the Mid-Atlantic Tournament Team, for his outstanding play in the NCAA Regional. Ginter went 3-for-6 (.500 avg.) in two games, drew one walk, and broke up a Johns Hopkins no-hitter in the sixth inning of the second round match-up. Kevin led SJC with 29 RBI in 2004.
