English

One member of the English department is the author of two books and fifty academic articles in medieval studies. That is the kind of experience our faculty bring to the study of the literature from classic to modern, including a wide variety of drama, prose and poetry from cultures around the world, as well as creative writing. The required senior thesis builds confidence, extends intellectual horizons and focuses students toward writing for publication.

Courses to consider include Communication for Professionals; Creative Writing; Journalism; Modern British Novel; The Bible as Literature; and The Language of Film.

Career options for English majors include advertising; film; journalism; law; library science; managerial training; public relations; personnel; publishing; radio; script writing and other writing; sales and service; teaching; television; and theater.
