Transfer Student Information

Transfer Admissions Requirements

As well as the documents and fee required for Freshman Admissions, please submit course descriptions from each college attended and a listing of courses in progress.

You are not required to submit a high school transcript if you have an A.A. degree or have successfully completed 40 or more credits from an accredited college. You may transfer a maximum of 64 credits if you have an A.A. degree; certain A.A.S. degrees are also transferable.

The Admissions Office reviews applications as they are received. In most cases a decision is mailed within two weeks of receipt of all required credentials.

If you would like an assessment of your transfer status, please contact the Counselor for Transfer Students at the Admissions Office.

Transfer Scholarship Requirements

Transfer Scholarships are awarded to individuals who meet the following criteria:

  1. 3.0 cumulative average or better
  2. a completed associate’s degree, in certain majors (45 transfer credits must be taken at the two-year college awarding the A.A., A.S., or A.A.S. degree)
  3. student must be a direct transfer
  4. student must enroll full–time
  5. student must transfer a minimum of 60 credits — a maximum of 76 credits

For scholarship consideration, all paperwork (SJC application, high school transcript and SAT scores) must be received by the Admissions Office before August 15 for the Fall semester and January 15 for the Spring semester.
